It's SATURDAY..........and I'm bored

Well after watching my uncle's 9 year-old for the past week while he was here in town on business, I had a very busy week. We went to eat lunch, played at Funigan's, went to Tanglewood's pool, and just hung out. While entertaining Micah, I also cleaned my house throughout the week so I would not have to spend my Saturday cleaning before we left for vacation. Now it's Saturday, and I have absolutely nothing to do. The house is clean, the yard is watered, grass does not need mowed, most of my friends are on vacation, the one that is here is unpacking their new home, my family is 3.5 hours away, and my DH is at work! YUCK!

However, I'm really excited to be going on my first week long vacation with my DH! We are going to Atlanta Georgia. Initially, I could have found a beachy place to vacation because that's my fav, however, now that my sister plays basketball for the Atlanta Dream we decided that this would be the spot. What's so great about it is that I get to see my sister play 3x in one week. They play Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. My parents and my brother and his girlfriend and their 2 girls are going as well. So I get a vacation with my hubby and a family vacation all-in-one. I've researched and found tons of things to do! Some will cost more than others like our family trip to Six Flags and some are every inexpensive activities like a free museum tour. I'm so excited!

End of week 1

So today sums up my first official week of summer break. I can truly say I enjoy waking up with not having to rush out the house. I enjoy being on my own schedule and doing things I don't get to do when working. I'm not too tired to cook dinner and I get to hang out with friends at the pool...Thanks Jordan! Although I have a lot more weeks to go the I have not gotten bored yet. I do have a few things planned to keep me occupied, like traveling to see my sister play, painting rooms in the house, not trying to spend money :-), vacationing with the hubby and my family, etc.

Housewife dayz....part 1 :-D

Okay as of today, I'm enjoying not working and relaxing around the house. I decided to make today my cleaning day and decided if I did my spring cleaning today, I will only have to pick up a couple days a week rather than cleaning everyday. I got of of bed and started cleaning downstairs. I then did laundry and finish painting most of our bedroom before Ray got home. I also made Ray a cake for our 1st anniversary. It was very cute if I don't say so myself. This is the first time I've ever made a specific cake for a specific reason and he loved it! For our anniversary we were going to dinner but some of our very close church Mom and Dad decided to take us to dinner on them so we could not turn it down. We rode with them to Mellow Mushroom which we both love so much. We ate pizza and cheese bread for dinner and talked and talked and talked so more. It was fun! Very laid back and a comfortable atmosphere. We are not doing much for our anniversary now because we are planning a week long trip in July where we will spend having a good time. Okay gotta go my sister's game is on, got to listen! Check here out sometime, www.atlantadream.net Tamera Young

Last Day of School

So today was the last day of my first year of teaching! What a day! What a year!! I've had my share of ups and downs and learned a lot about myself as a teacher over the past 180+ days. As a gift to my student parents I took pictures of each individual child in a cap and gown. On the back of the picture I wrote down what was special about each child and what I will miss about them. By the time I read 3 of them I got teary eyed and really started missing my students. I will never have a first class ever again. It was a great year but I am excited it is over. I can enjoy my summer relaxing, hanging with my friends and family, and watching my sister playing basketball in Atlanta.

Tamera Drafted #8 in WNBA Draft

What a surprise it was for my family and me to see my sister go #8 in the 2008 WNBA draft. We knew Tamera had the capability to go anywhere in the draft and we were already aware that she could go anywhere from the 8th pick to the 1th pick. Watching the draft gets me excited still hearing her name called as the 8th pick for the new expansion team the Atlanta Dream. All I can say is that my family is truly and continually blessed. You have to know our story to truly appreciate the glory we give to God for all that he has done. Thank you all who prayed for Tamera throughout her college career and the WNBA draft camp and draft.
